This should be useful if you frequently shop online and find cheap flights online too. The notification shows up on a small bar on top of your search page to notify you of cheaper or better deals.

My Shopping Genie Buying a cooker

Not sure if you’ve come across My Shopping Genie yet but I have discovered this awesome free app which can save me money time after time and can be used both for business and personal purchases via the Internet.

As I spend more of my hard earned cash buying products from websites this free app saves me time and more importantly cash on finding the best price for any specific product and basically I’m lazy and going shopping in the high street is not something that I enjoy however I guess it would be preferable to poking pins under my fingernails-just about!

So a very simple question for you, tell me why you wouldn’t download My Shopping Genie which is a free app to your favourite search engine?

When you’re in the market to purchase anything from a PC to dog food this app ensures you get the best available price on the whole of the Internet every time-how cool is that?

Recently I had to order a free standing cooker for one of our contracts and I immediately thought of my shopping genie. Again why would I want to traipse around the shops, assuming that they’re not all boarded up or ceased trading due to the current economic climate that is, looking for this cooker and hoping that I would get the best available price. Just because retailers advertise their sales and price promises they rely on the fact that the general public can’t be bothered actually following it up and checking-apathy rules!

A simple search on Google reveals that the cooker I was looking for a Hotpoint cooker HUG 61G returned the following results:

  1. Google returned prices ranging from £454.86 which included free delivery to the cheapest one £430 (not sure whether deliverables inclusive).

 

So a simple click on My Shopping Genie revealed the following:

  1. Tesco returned a price of £559.97
  2. eBay returned a price of £425.00 including delivery
  3. Ciao returned a price of £437.00 which included delivering.
  4. Bizrate cheapest price was £430.00 again free delivery.
  5. Deal time returned washing machines which were totally irrelevant, however this small price to pay if you are ensuring you get the best possible price for your product.
  6. Kelkoo returned the price of £457.00
  7. Amazon offered the cooker at £588.86 I didn’t even bother looking to see if this included delivery or not it just goes to show that the sites that you expect to be the cheapest is not necessarily the case.
  8. Anyway the best result than My Shopping Genie returned was at  fires-cookers.co.uk for £415.98 including delivery which saved me money all very simple and easy and why would I want to pay more money? The cooker was delivered within five working days. One satisfied customer!

In actual fact I have a confession to make, I gave this task to my 15-year-old son whilst he was on his school holidays surely this demonstrates how simple My Shopping Genie is to use.

I have just been told about an awesome free app My Shopping Genie which has been launched, the principal idea is to save you time and money when searching for products on the Internet.

I’m sure I’m no different to anyone else in that I’m constantly looking for the best price when considering a purchase this may be anything from a washing machine, training shoes, or even a holiday.

My Shopping Genie is an app which you download onto any search engine of your choice (Safari is not available at the moment) and quite simply this app can then be launched from Google’s homepage and it will search the whole of the Internet and return the best price.

Once you have loaded the app which takes a matter of seconds it automatically pops up onto Google’s homepage it is in fact an icon of a Genie which is located on the bottom right-hand side of the page.

With this in mind I carried out a simple test for a laptop bag and My Shopping Genie returned several options for me to view some as you would expect are irrelevant so I just closed them and checked out the prices on the remaining sites.

The app returned four identical prices from Misco, eBay, Dealtime and Kelkoo the only difference being that Misco shows a price exclusive of VAT so it is worthwhile to check the basic cost and add any postage and packaging.

This test took no more than a few minutes therefore the time I saved in not having to visit individual sites is powerful but probably more important in the present economic climate is that it also ensures I get the best possible price.

OK just to make sure I wasn’t just being lucky and we are constantly told to test and track I did another simple search, this time for dog food.

We have two Springer Spaniels who as you can appreciate need substantial food to ensure they are fit and healthy and we have always fed them on Beta Active which generally retails around £28.00/15Kg.

Sometimes stores will offer ‘buy one get one half price’ or in my case recently buy two 15Kgs at £45.00.

Anyway I used the genie and found I could purchase the same product delivered to my address the following day, no postage for the grand sum of £40.48 a saving of £4.52 okay not a huge amount of money but consider this, I make this purchase probably six times/year that means I would save at least £27.12.

Another thought: this is based upon a special offer if the product was full price around £28.00/15Kgs x 2 = £56.00 against the price I found using the genie the saving becomes £15.52/15Kgs x 6 purchases/year that’s a massive £93.12 enough for a night out I guess!

So to reiterate the My Shopping Genie App is completely free – how cool is that?

What is ‘My Shopping Genie’ and how does it work?

My shopping Genie is an app (small program) that you download into your Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chome Etc) and it will carry out a price comparison each time you do a search in Google (if you want). Does not appear the rest of the time you are surfing, just when on Google.

The app (program) is free to download and use and will save you money on your  online purchases. How it works is that you click on the blue ‘Genie’ that appears at the bottom of your screen whenever you do a search in Google. The Genie will then give you a couple of options and one is compare prices. If you click on compare prices then the My Shopping Genie will open up a tab for each of the websites that can sell the item including price comparison sites such as Kelko and Google products etc.

You then click through all the tabs, make a note of the lowest price and then go back to that tab and buy! It is that simple.

I have used for several games and stuff that my son wanted to buy via the internet. He saved about £6 on his online shopping of £40 (that he was going to spend on Ebay and Amazon). So that’s 15% saving and all he did was click on the tabs. Great saving!

Would you like to do that as well? No brainer really. You will save on all your on line shopping and you can save on offline as well! A friend of mine was after dog food, He went to the usual shop but it was all sold out, We went online used the free app, My Shopping Genie and he found a supplier online that saved him over £5 on a bag of Dog food and it arrive at his door the following day.

People ask, is My Shopping Genie a scam? No it is just a sophisticated piece of software that will do all the price comparisons for you and then you buy from the same major online retailers that you have already know.

How can My Shopping Genie do all this for free? Well the answer is they get a very small commission each time you buy, like insurance, you cannot get it any cheaper even if you went direct.

Welcome to Try My Shopping Genie. This site as well as telling you how you can save money everyday just my installing this simple free app, will also give you updates to the MyShoppingGenie app as it evolves to give you better choice and save money on your daily shopping.
